Summer Camp 2025 Homework

Week 1

Nourishment and the pledge. This year I want to focus on editing articles and finishing working on my book draft. So, this year will not be gold tier. It will more likely be copper or silver.

Eldabrand

Nourishment in Astnyr at least is very important to nature and mankind. The enemy to this nourishment is death magic and Death Druids, as well as mad magic and Mages of Madness. This world has four regions that partake of the main characters, which are LGBTQIA+. I want to have some more media and book representation of trans/gay/bisexual/straight couples. Usually in my books the character is either transmasc or transfemme. But I hope to have some nonbinary and aesexual/aromantic characters along with the main couple. This is why I am considering making Isabella in "Lunarius's Chosen" aesexual. This is the nourishment I want in the real world.

Notta

Now with Notta, life there is apoptalytic. Dark Dwarves rule while slavery of Tigrim is legal again. Dark Elves and many Naga are controled by the Queen of Darkness. Only one sane dark elf remains. Life there is devoid of nourishment. However, Notta's past was very nourishable. Before the apocolaspe ever happened. So, what I'm hoping for this summer camp is to have people look at the Notta of before. I will have special articles that pertain to life before the Queen of Darkness was released. A glimpse at least.

Pledge

For the rest of assignment 1, I'm already editing and improving articles in Astnyr. The meta is not as important to me as it once was. The only meta I need is the one of Eldabrand.

Week 2

The homepage and world pages need some improvements, this is true. I'm also working on ethnicities more on Eldabrand. I am not sure if I will make their own articles or combine them with the race articles.

Notta

Since I decided to focus on Notta for this summer camp, I think I need to integrate a lot more culture than I have in either worlds. I don't know if this will just be an experiment, or if it will be true for Notta's setting. As well as the intro page. I'm not sure if I want to have a before or after for that page, or to just have the after. I'm thinking I should do both for the context of the reader.   With mistakes, I hope not to make the mistake of having to few pictures or formats for my articles. When I started, I didn't even know I could save an image and place it inside the article. I used to just use the spots the article layout gave me. Now that I use pictures inside the article with the words, I have gotten a bit more engagement and ideas. New ideas for my worlds and books seem to come to me very often. I'm hoping this momentum won't stop.

Week 3

This week can involve both worlds. First of all Eldabrand adapts because of angel corruption from madness and decay. Notta adapts from the Queen of Darkness rising and becomes a far crueler world. Crueler than before Lunar and Knowler intervened in the Great War. Of course, I have to improve both timelines to reflect this. As well as articles that reflect this change such as geographical or character articles.   The artist/worldbuilder I choose to have inspiration from this week is, "The Hollowing" by Sorianna Choate. https://www.worldanvil.com/w/the-veil-of-tears-stillnessandsilence/a/the-hollowing---condition   I think that unknown diseases to one sex is something I never considered. The art style from the images as well remind me of those chalk or revealer canvas paintings. When I was a kid there was a special paper and pen that I could draw with. Images of white and colours appeared from each stroke of the pen, revealing something really cool. These images reflect the sorrow and pain ones afflicted with the Hollowing endure, which striked me as showing how agonizing it truly is. I applaud this worldbuilder! I guess this is both assignment 2 and 3. But I want to explore more articles in the community page.

Eldabrand

As I said, Astnyr had to adapt, as well as the three other regions. First, Lunarius turned into the angel of madness, which constituted a sealed Old God's power. Many Wizards of the Battle Mages were afflicted, for they were the easiest to control. This was because fire magic came from Astnyr and not the rulers themselves. However, Flame Archers were never afflicted, for they were not as power hungry as many Wizards tended to be. Then Morana discovered death magic through her own grief. She turned into a corrupted angel and took many Life Druids with her. These Death Druids and Mages of Madness roamed the land as well as served their masters, whether sealed or freed.   Both of these threats were breaking points for the region. However, a third angel became assumingly corrupted. Strection became overcome with rage. This led to another adaptation for the people as Ironhammer became closed off and hostile. Justlight lost his Justice Paladins as they sided with Strection's ideals. This caused trade to almost colapse since so many craftsmen were dwarves from Ironhammer. With the help of Craftport and Seaport, they were able to mitigate the damage of the economy. Commissions were still sent to Ironhammer even though nothing was coming out of the walled off city.

Notta

Notta was once a world where slavery was legal and thriving. Particularly, the Dark Dwarves enslaved the beastly race of the Tigrim. These were the only two races to exist in Notta until Lunar and Knowler were tasked with fixing the world by Aeftir's leaders. (another world I need to get into, but these two first). Lunar created Dark Elves and Knowler created the Naga. These two races fought the Dark Dwarves for the Tigrim's freedom. This war was known as the Great War. Lunar claimed victory and a treaty was signed. However, most Dark Dwarves could not adapt well to this change, which led to rebellions being formed. They wanted their power back.   With this weakness of the dwarves, Stricord, the Queen of Darkness took advantage. They gained power again and enslaved the Tigrim once more. The Dark Elves and two ethnicities of Naga were powerless against the Queen's power, resulting in mind control not unlike from Lunarius in Astnyr. Only one Dark Elf remained with free will, but he too was influenced by Lunarius. I still need to figure out how Lunarius was able to contact Eldrinor from another world entirely, especially since the angel was sealed away.

Week 4

It's the final week before Summer camp starts. I'm excited, but nervous at the same time. Last year, I got to gold badge, but with settling back into the US, all the national drama, writing my book, and trying to get a job, it all adds up in the end. So, what I'm going to try to do is stay motivated and have a scheduled worldbuilding time.   My schedule for Summer Camp 2025 will be reviewing my first draft/writing the second draft of "Lunarius's Chosen" (might be a changed title one of these days)/irl stuff on Tues-Thurs. Then I will be streaming my Summer Camp/general worldbuilding Fri-Sun. Monday will be just a relaxation day for me. I have to have at least one of those next month.   I actually got a bunch of new resources while I was in Ireland. Books and stories mainly. But I also got this Lunar magic book that I want to read for Notta's development. I also have Beowulf in a physical copy for some other world or even just my currents ones. I also have spotify with my writing playlists and music. Video games and social activities with my fc will keep me from becoming too stressed, especially if I need a good day off. Meds for my sensory disabilities are filled and ready to go if I shutdown as well. Of course, my writing space is my room and the local library as per usual.   I've never used stubs. Usually I tell myself to make some for Notta, but I forget a few seconds after that. I'll have to make some this weekend or next week when the first week of Summer Camp starts. Depends if I even remember to.   That's all the prep for Summer Camp! I will be telling my parents I will be busy with "work" this coming month. However, I will still celebrate birthdays and such. My mum's birthday is in July so, I'll celebrate that. Time to really get brainstorming!
