Tanarius
Tanarius is a city grown, not built. Hidden at the heart of the Eldergrove Expanse, the capital of the Tanarian Empire blends into the forest as though it has always been part of it. Massive trees serve as living towers, their hollowed trunks housing residences, temples, and chambers of state. Bridges of woven vines and shimmering crystal span glades instead of streets. At the center lies the Verdant Spire, a colossal, glowing tree whose canopy pierces the clouds and whose roots stretch miles underground. Within it resides the Emperor, known only by title, a figure shrouded in mystery and reverence.
Tanarius is a city of quiet majesty. It does not hum with noise but resonates with songbirds, soft chimes, and the rustling cadence of nature. Though elusive, it is not stagnant. Elven scholars, druids, and spellwrights shape policy and magic alike in its serene sanctums. Foreigners are rarely admitted, and when they are, it is under heavy escort and only to certain wards.
Like most elven cities, not much is known to outsiders, and insiders speak little of it.

Government
Tanarius is the permanent seat of the Verdant Throne and the Circle of Vines, the imperial council of elders. While the Emperor is rarely seen, their voice echoes through emissaries and rootbinders—agents who interpret and enact imperial will. All three major sects of elven authority—arcane, druidic, and noble—intertwine here.
