Syroli
Syroli is the iron heart of Imenia’s eastern military machine. It is a city of drills, discipline, and relentless steel. Guarding the Republic’s southeastern approaches and standing as a bulwark between Imenia and Aethel, Syroli is both shield and sword. Its skyline bristles with watchtowers, barracks, and siege workshops, and its people live under the ever-watchful eyes of the Strategos and their elite garrison.
Though built for war, Syroli is no bleak fortress. The city’s sense of civic pride is unmatched, and the citizens, who are often veterans or descendants of veterans, see their role in national defense as a sacred duty. Loyalty, sacrifice, and preparation define Syroli’s identity.

Government
Syroli is one of two cities - the other being Vathalia - where the Archon is appointed by the national government. The Triarchs nominate someone, usually a strong military veteran, to the Eklesia to become a special Archon who controls not only the city and its region but oversees the vast military force in its borders.
Especially in this tense time with the Aethel border just to the north, the leadership of the military force at Syroli is of paramount importance.

Industry & Trade
While Syroli does engage in limited trade, its economy is largely supported through state contracts for arms production and military provisioning. It also mines iron and silver from the nearby mountains and refines them locally. The Steelworker’s Union and the Alchemists' Assembly are powerful local guilds, responsible for weapon enchantments and battlefield alchemy.

Districts
Syroli is built in concentric walls around a central fortress complex known as the Citadel of Unity, which houses the city’s command, munitions vaults, and a war college. The outer rings of the city are divided into:
The Ironworks District: A thunderous expanse of foundries, forges, and armories producing everything from ballistae to plate mail.
The Parade Grounds: Massive open areas used for public training, announcements, and military exhibitions.
The Living Blocks: Dense but orderly housing sectors, where former soldiers and their families dwell in modest but well-kept homes.
The city is encircled by three layers of walls, each independently defensible. Even the city’s bridges, gates, and sewer tunnels are built to be sealed or repurposed for defense at a moment’s notice.
