Kaziri

Kaziri is Sulkara’s bustling southwestern port and its maritime lifeline to Vaaskyr and western continents. Built into a protective bay and shielded by natural sea cliffs, the city is known for its vivid market district, sea-carved docks, and lively taverns frequented by sailors and merchants alike. While Mayakish is the heart of Sulkara, Kaziri is its voice to the world—a vibrant mix of trade, diplomacy, and cultural exchange.

Government

Kaziri is ruled by Harbormaster Sadaf Matouf, a shrewd genasi, and the Emir's aunt. The Harbormaster wields considerable autonomy, acting as governor, ambassador, and military leader. A Merchant Tribunal of major trade house leaders advises the Harbormaster and enforces local law.

Defences

Kaziri is protected by several natural and built defenses. The Cliffs of Ranin, natural redstone cliffs surround the harbor, and twin lighthouses known as the Flame and the Salt mark the harbor entrance. Legend says they can conjure walls of steam in defense of the city if needed.

Industry & Trade

The city exports spices, dried fruits, salt, woven textiles, glassware, coral jewelry, and imports lumber, metals and gemstones, armor, fish, and ocassionally exotic goods from far off continents.
Kaziri is the primary stop for sea caravans from Vaaskyr, and often hosts foreign dignitaries from Peyurna and Largus.
