Enselt
Perched on Aethel's eastern coast, Enselt is a city of sails, steel, and salt. Known as the cradle of Aethel's naval power, Enselt is where the kingdom's finest ships are born and its future admirals are forged. The city hums with the rhythmic clang of hammer on hull and the deep bellow of shipyard horns. While deeply tied to military production, Enselt also thrives on trade from the eastern seas, making it a city of both martial precision and cosmopolitan flair.
Life in Enselt is defined by tides and tradition. Sailors leave tokens at dockside shrines before a voyage, and celebrations of the sea god Atun sometimes mix with rites of Lathander, especially among the coastal clergy, who are given a level of autonomy not typically seen elsewhere in the realm. There is a streak of friendly rivalry with the military academy at Kohram, with naval officers often boasting of the rigors of the sea over "marching on dry dirt."

Government
The city is ruled by Pralat Selra Vire, a member of the secretive monastic Order of Embers. Not much else is known about her, as she has just arrived after training for many years in Klosterdorf.
Industry & Trade
While shipbuilding and military provisioning dominate the economy, Enselt also enjoys a robust trade network. Imports from the eastern islands and the Tanarian Empire fill the Salt Market with rare spices, silks, and even the occasional arcane curiosity, if one knows where to look. Fishing, too, plays a vital role, with the outer cliffs hosting thousands of gulls and bustling morning fishmongers.
Districts
Enselt is divided into three districts: the Shipwright's Bay, where colossal drydocks and bustling workshops dominate the coastline; the Officer's Quarter, a clean, orderly district housing the naval academy and upper command; and the Salt Market, a sprawling harbor-side bazaar teeming with exotic goods, foreign traders, and sailors from distant shores. The city is built into the natural contours of the cliffs and harbor, with tall stone seawalls guarding against storms and siege alike.
