Elaris
The world that cycles though long stints of day and night known as Talorian & Alagorian.
Elaris is a fractured world of sacred memory, celestial upheaval, and ancestral devotion. Once unified under a supercontinent known only through ancient myth and Thalrani song, the world was torn apart during the Great Sundering. This calamity shattered both the land and the celestial balance upheld by the Solstone and Nightstone. These twin artifacts once governed the cyclical harmony of light and shadow, but now their broken remnants fuel unpredictable cycles known as the Talorian (day) and Alagorian (night) phases. These shifts, occurring randomly every three months, govern everything from climate to ritual, and are both feared and celebrated by Elaris's diverse peoples.
Magic in Elaris is sacred and still awakening, deeply tied to divine fragments, ancient bloodlines, and spiritual traditions. Formal wizardry is rare; most magic is passed through covens, bonded mentorships, or the ancestral threads preserved in artifacts like Sashweaves, Aether-Moss dyes, and memory glyphs. Cultures such as the Thalrani, scattered across the continents of Umbrenor, Selendral, Aetheron, Drakora, and Solaris, trace their identity not through kingship or nationhood, but through ritual memory and communal rites like the Loom Vine Devotion. Although the Thalrani have no homeland, they unite in moments of crisis through ancient codes, such as the Laws of the Last Loom, invoking powers and organizations with controversial histories.
Religion in Elaris is guided by the Veilbound, whose doctrine centers on restoring harmony to the fractured Veil that once separated the worlds of light and shadow. The divine pantheon reflects this duality, and holidays mark the turning of cycles as both divine observance and cosmic necessity. Across the world, mythical beings, young dragons, dream serpents, and starborn spirits serve as echoes of a reality that once was whole. In this realm, adventurers are more than heroes; they are stitchers of fate, charged with reweaving the broken threads of land, lineage, and light to preserve the balance for all who walk beneath the twin suns and stars of Elaris.
