Rhymanthiin City
Castle Tolston was known for centuries as a curious fortress guarding an island on the southern fringes of the old Eal Empire. The island was on the border of the Black Ocean and formed a bulwark against whatever dark magic possesses those waters, but was otherwise considered unimportant. It was guarded by servants of the Gold Dragonflight. The mist covering the ocean recoils from this fortress as much as it does from the lighthouse at Domsport.
During the Imperium War, the reason for the Gold flight's interest in the island was made clear. The city was the physical location of Rhymanthiin, the hidden city of hope, which no one can approach with ill intent in their hearts. It was created during the Spellplague of Faerun by Khelben Arunsun, the first Blackstaff, as a refuge for fae and mortal folk alike.
After the Sunfist Imperium's defeat at the Battle of Rhymanthiin, the locals here have begun to relax their strict rules regarding the secrecy of Rhymanthiin society. The island appears deserted to the untrained eye, but in truth the entire island is a fae city. The sparse pockets of civilization serve a similar function to parks, zoos and reserves in a mortal city - they integrate the city into the mortal realms and encourage mortals travelling through to keep to established and controlled areas. Visitors without business with the inhabitants here are well advised to stick to the established villages, keeps and castles, or roads linking them. Lady Ruby Wintergreen has gone on record insisting that she will not intervene to save someone who tries to exploit this island's natural resources and accidentely chops down a dryad's home, and gets arrested for it.
Sharp-eyed Guild adventurers travelling here will note the archetecture and stonework of Tolston Castle bears similarities to the Old Fort on the docks of the Guildhall. The stone is grey, a bit oily and possibly crumbly, but it repels all forms of magic and is actually strengthened by radiant energy attacks. The uppermost story of the southmost tower is domed, it has a single large arrowslit that runs all the way to the ceiling and appears to be designed to rotate.
