Wú Sùlíng (WOO SOO-leeng)
A Resident
Sùlíng Wú
Wú Sùlíng walks as if accompanied by shadow—but it's the absence of shadow that follows him. Light bends oddly around his hands, pooling in fingertips, glinting in hair that never quite settles into one shade. As a Draoi Solais, he manipulates illumination with the elegance of a calligrapher—bending beams to reveal truth, hide memory, or simply amuse. His talent, though powerful, is never used idly.
He’s deliberate with his words and precise in gesture. Children follow him for the shapes he casts onto stone walls; elders watch him with the wariness reserved for those who touch the unseen. He claims his control is learned, not inherited—but his brother Hóu suggests otherwise.
Wú often speaks in riddles, especially when asked about light and its source. “I don’t summon it,” he’ll say. “I remind it where to go.” His workshop contains no candles, and yet it is never dark. His silence, like his light, feels woven with intent.
