Ingredients

2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons dried lavender flowers
6 egg yolks

To reflect the lavish side of Tristan's life and tie back to France, a lavender honey ice cream is a luxurious dessert. Lavender, common in the French countryside, and honey, a staple in both French and Middle Eastern cuisines, combine beautifully in this dish.

Recipe Directions

In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, honey, and lavender. Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes.
In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Gradually whisk in the lavender-cream mixture.
Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the lavender. Chill the mixture thoroughly.
Churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. Freeze until solid.
