Fenoria
What you will find in Fenoria is the edge, my friend. The edge between good and evil. The edge between our order and the squabble of minor lords. The edge between our culture and the barbaric scum. Also, they make excellent wine.Fenoria is the most southern region of Caramiza, with the largest land border to the Knurkang nation to the south, marked mostly by the Rosteyn River. The region borders to the Serrenten Mountains and Wunnewalden to the west with the many rivers and craigs running through the hills and crevices of Serrenten Rest. Most of the water coming from the Serrenten Mountains either flows into the Rosteyn River to the south or the Fenoria Stream to the south. Everything else flows east into the large Fenorijten Swamp. Along the Rosteyn River are the Rosteyn Riverlands, with the large river having carved beautiful river valleys suitable for productive wineyards. Were the Rosteyn river almost meets the southern edge of the Fenorijten Swamlands, the river goes underground for several kilometers, beneath the Rostwurf Plateau. When the river reemerges from below the earth (with the spectacular sights of the Rosteyn Falls, it marks the southern border of the Rosteyn Heathland.
Politics and Governance
Due to its signifcant distance to the capitol Bealuki, the king's influence is mostly held up by the millitary presence at the border. Most of the region is either governed by relatively independent city states belonging to the Gamian Group's Rosteyn Faction. Even though there is not current open conflict between the nations of Knurkang and Caramiza, there are multiple heavily fortified forts in the east of the region. Therefore, the king's influence is strongest to the east. The interests of the Gamian Group are forming a diplomatic wall along the river, as their allegience is never fully towards either of the nations. The Fenorijten Swamp is basically ungoverned as it is only accessible with difficulty. The few settlements existing within do affiliate with Caramiza and are taxed but offer no military support. Most fortified millitary routes and larger settlements are along the western and eastern edge of the swamp, with the notable exception of the Copperfinn Highroad cutting straight through the swamp with many bridges and fortified areas.
