SD Session 1: Choppy Waters

Month 9, Week 2- Month 11, Week 1, Year 941   A new band of adventurers assembled in the halls of the GHG HQ to undertake a high-risk and high-reward mission. Calling themselves Germaine's Vanguard, the party took a train out to the docks of Silvio to help guard a shipping expedition into the blighted Koulan Forests. Alessa Gentiloni, the noblewoman chartering the trade mission, gave the party comfortable accommodations during the voyage and warned them about the powers of the evil druid Cella Vivaldi.   The voyage took seven weeks round trip, but thankfully the passage through the Karaga Sea proved uneventful. The party did come across a Floating Island that had fallen into the sea, discovering some ancient elven treasures before the island sank underwater. The ship docked at Mokazai for several days to unload its cargo and pick up several tons of precious Koulan timber, the party fending off a horde of blighted monsters from attacking the crew one night. Fechin wondered what compelled the creatures to attack them and what the evil druid's ambitions might be, but few had run into Cella Vivaldi and lived to tell the tale.   Despite the mysteries remaining, the voyage proved a huge success for everybody involved and Alessa offered to rehire the Vanguard for any future missions if they'd be willing to help with her political ambitions.
