Crown Kabili Ironbeard
Kabili Ironbeard became the first Crown of the Dom. Half human and half Dwarf, Kabili had been born in the old world, but was only 16 when he came through the portal. Thus, he had spent more of his life in the new world than the old. His plans and actions were key to finding and defeating the last bandit leader, and although he was soft-spoken for a Dwarf, he was highly respected among many of the people as a leader.
After becoming the Crown, he immediately began drawing plans for buildings in the capital, knowing that future generations would host other nation's dignitaries and simply because the people needed the symbol of leadership. As he visited the elves in the Sehanine Forest, he saw first hand the beauty of their architecture and was blown away. When visiting the Forges, he was impressed by their ingenuity and mechanations. He scrapped his previous plans, and ended up with two palace designs to represent the Raone people, both grander than his original designs. Knowing the Roane people already as more multicultural, there would always be the need for communal places to gather. And thus, the idea of a large paved marketplace in every city and town is credited to Crown Kabili.
Later known as Kabili the Builder, the first Crown spent nearly all his time overseeing construction of the palaces, temples, markets, and other state structures needed to establish a growing empire. He created new sewer and water systems, and improved on the elevator designs. Kabili met with generals of the Leyvarr Guard to design Forts and even smaller patrol stations to maximize use of materials and build time.
Crown Kabili also set a precedent for future Crowns. As the years began to creep up on him and the palace wasn't finished, he made the decision to voluntarily step down from his role as Crown to focus solely on completing the Sun and Moon Palace, the last of the major public works construction projects that had yet to be completed. This began an honorable tradition that a Crown shouldn't take up the position greedily until their death, but instead should make way for the next generation while still having access to the wisdom of their elders while beginning their time.
Little did Kabili know how much this would trickle down into other positions, and even to this day, when a person refuses to back off as they begin to reach elder age, it is seen as honorable and respectful for the person to step back. If they hold on to the position, it's generally viewed negatively, or as a greedy for power and control. These individually are generally voted out or removed from their position when it's gone on too long.
At the end of his life, Kabili would still draw new building ideas and spend time with his wife, Elza (dwarf), and his three children and multiple grandchildren. He passed peacefully in 126 AP at the age of 143.
Crown Kabili Ironbeard retired in 62 AP, and was followed by Crown Alethera Trisvaris
