Nightlands

The Nightlands are a region in Faerie dominated by eternal, starless night. The Nightlands are home to the Night Ones. They are ruled by the Nightqueen. They are accessible from Highpass or from the Blessed Sea.   The Nightqueen is at war with Sugea, a great serpent. His fae, the Brood of Sugea, wander the plains warring with the Nightqueen's forces. This gives the realm two factions: the Night Ones (servants of the Nightqueen) and the Brood of Sugea.   The Nightlands comprise a flat, dusty plain. In some places, ancient, lifeless trees linger, but land itself is lifeless. The northern arc of the realm is bounded by the Blesséd Sea. The southern arc ends abruptly in the Wall of Night, a steep, impassable mountain range extending high into the lightless sky. Several dry riverbeds cross the Nightlands on their way from the Wall of Night to the sea.   The dusty plain of the Nightlands is home to various fae. Mairuak and Intxisuak roam the plains along with the Dustworms of the Brood of Sugea.   The Dark Tower: At the center of the Nightlands, a colossal tree rises high into the sky. The tree is dead and cracked. It is the home of the Nightqueen and her servants.   The Well of Secrets: At the base of the Wall of Night, there are a series of ornate engravings that form an arch. The engravings light up if illuminated by a Light of Truth (quest item). This will create a doorway that the bearer of the lamp and his or her group can pass through. On the other side there is a cave with a spring in the center. This is the Well of Secrets. If you drink from the spring, the next question you ask aloud (using /say) will be answered. The answer will usually be cryptic (a series of pre-programmed, vague responses). Certain quests will be programmed so that a needed piece of information will be given instead.   The Cave of Day: a cave in the Wall of Night leads to Highpass.   The Bear Tree: One of the desiccated trees has a large crack in it. Those who pass through the crack find themselves in the caves behind Surefall Glade.
