Castle Mistmoore

Castle Mistmoore is home to the elven vampire, Mayong Mistmoore. The castle is guarded both by mortal thralls (Ispir) and undead (vampires, caitiff, chiropterans, and soul devourers, and more).   The castle is located on a high, rocky promontory. Below it lie a set of Combine Spires fenced in by the Outer Bailey. A staircase cut into the side of the promontory connects the Outer Bailey to the Second Gate and Inner Bailey. At the back of the Inner Bailey, a cleft cut into the top of the promontory creates a dry moat. This area is called the gorge. A mystic bridge leads across the gorge to the Keep. The keep is a towering structure of black rock. It extends high above the promontory and is perpetually wreathed in dark clouds that arc purple lightning down at the top of the keep. Snow and sleet (depending on the season) regularly fall here.  

Points of Interest

  The Bridge: The bridge is insubstantial for any who lack the Key to Castle Mistmoore. The only way in without a key is to fly or survive the tentacles at the bottom of the gorge and climb up the far side.   Dungeons: The dungeons have chained caitiff (1), soul temptresses (35-37), soul seductresses (39-41)   The Gorge: at the bottom of the gorge, black tentacles grasp hungrily at any living thing that finds itself at the bottom. Once grabbed, the tentacles leech the life out of their victim.   The Graveyard: In a corner of the Inner Bailey, a derelict graveyard exists, a remnant of the time when Castle Mistmoore was a domain of the living. The graveyard has Glyphed Soldiers, Glyphed Invokers, and Glyphed Conjurers. The Crypt at its far end has thought corrupters (26-28, undead illusionist).   Inner Bailey: The inner bailey is the walled courtyard at the top of the stairs leading up from the outer bailey.   Keep: The Keep is the heart of the castle and home of its lord. It is an eight story structure (not including the dungeons below).   The Kennels: Four bloodwolves (29-32) are kenneled in the Outer Bailey.   The Outer Bailey: The outer bailey is the first part of the castle adventurers enter. It is guarded by Ispir Footmen (20-22), Leering Gargoyles (22-24), Ispir Evokers (21-23), and Ispir Necromancers (22-24). A set of Combine Spires are located here; however, any intruders teleporting in will find themselves under attack by all sides unless the outer bailey is camped.
