Spooktober 2025: Torment

This one nearly killed me. It’s also probably the reason I shouldn’t do events like Spooktober, at least not in my current frame of mind and with my currently way-too-high expectations of myself.

You might even say that this one tormented me.

What started out as a simple illustration of Baccata the Blasphemer tormenting a tin woodsman (not necessarily that tin woodsman, but you never know) turned into a full-on costume reimagining for Baccata. The old costume was causing major problems with the new(ish) ways I'm doing things in Daz Studio, so I needed to come up with something new.

The problem is, these Spooktober thingies were meant to be low-stress breaks from my currently high-stress work-in-progress. They were not meant to be things that take me hours on end of searching through costume pieces, trying to imagine why her look has changed, and struggling with the part of myself that is insistent I just go back to the original costume—the one that was causing me all the problems in the first place!

Anyway, I am not in a good place right now. Mentally and emotionally speaking, that is. I’ve certainly been in worse spots, but I’m just barely keeping it together. I need a break, a vacation, but none is forthcoming.

Until, of course, I torment myself into a forced break I guess.

Anyway! Look at the The Wicked Witch of the East being all wicked and stuff!!!
