Cor'Etriel Inastina Thaoro Teuivae (a.k.a. the silver queen, Iris)
Once the revered ruler of the elven kingdom of Falenora, Inastina Thaoro Teuivae, also known as the Silver Queen, is now better known as Iris, the enigmatic leader of The Veil. Her reign, marked by wisdom, charisma, and a deep connection to her people, came to an abrupt end when rebellion and betrayal plunged her into chaos. Despite this, Inastina remains a figure of legend, her name spoken with a mixture of reverence, fear, and mystery.
The Curse
In 542 bC, an assassination attempt on Inastina forever changed her life. The attack was orchestrated by her enemies, likely with the assistance of dark forces, and left her scarred in body and spirit. The assassins cursed her with a series of afflictions, each designed to strip her of joy, freedom, and peace:
Blindness: Inastina lost her sight, though she later learned to perceive her surroundings by tapping into the Realm of Chaos. As she got used to the constant tapping into the realm, she developed hightened senses comparable to truesight.
Plane-Walking Dreams: When she meditates or sleeps, her spirit involuntarily wanders the chaotic landscapes of the Realm of Chaos, leaving her restless and vulnerable.
Tasteless Food: All food lost its flavor for her, a small but cruel reminder of the assassination attempt that forever altered her life.
Despite these curses, Inastina adapted, using her enhanced senses of hearing and aura perception to navigate the world with grace and precision. She remains a skilled warrior and sorceress, undeterred by her blindness.

Social and Political History
Reign as the Silver Queen
For nearly 500 years, Inastina ruled as the Cor'Etriel (high queen) of Falenora, earning the loyalty and admiration of her people. Her reign was marked by fairness, wisdom, and an openness to change, ensuring that the needs of her people were always prioritized. Her willingness to adapt made her one of the most respected leaders in elven history.
Her administration was characterized by a network of advisors who traveled throughout Falenora, gathering feedback from the populace. This ensured that even the most remote settlements felt heard and represented in her court.
Religious Beliefs
Inastina was blessed at birth by Ineas, the goddess of life and renewal. This divine connection was a cornerstone of her faith and leadership. After the assassination attempt and her subsequent curse, Ineas began interacting with her more directly in the Realm of Chaos, offering guidance and solace during her restless meditations.
This bond with Ineas strengthened her resolve and deepened her understanding of magic, life, and the balance of chaos and order.
The Fall of Falenora
Inastina’s reign ended during a human-led rebellion, fueled in part by the influence of Malonne Caiven, a Nevaelyth whose hunger for power destabilized the region. Despite her strength and wisdom, she was forced to abdicate and disappear from public life to protect her people from further bloodshed.
Life as Iris
After fleeing Falenora, Inastina adopted the alias Iris and began building a new life in the shadows. She eventually became one of the founders of the Onyx Assembly, using her experience and intellect to shape its operations. As the leader of The Veil, she employs her unmatched skill in espionage and manipulation to guide the Assembly’s efforts to overthrow the duke of Widton.
While her regal demeanor remains intact, Iris has grown more pragmatic and morally flexible in her methods. She hides her magical abilities and former identity, presenting herself as a blind informant and strategist. Her natural charisma and aura of strength often leave others questioning whether she is truly blind.
