Personal history
Zinaida was born to Telitsyn and Somova (Last Name), a pair of farmers in rural Russia. Telitsyn was a yuan-ti while Somova was human. Zinaida lived a relatively secluded life working on the farm until her parents tried to sell her off to a dvoryanin (noble) man as a wife to pay off their debt, but Zinaida ran away from home before the deal could go through. She escaped to The Free West and became a wandering adventurer of sorts, going town to town doing odd jobs. She met Reginald Holloway in 188, nearly dead from thirst. Reginald brought her back to his home town where he ran a book shop and nursed her back to health. Before long, they fell in love and got married. Their son, Donovan, was born in 195. Reginald disappeared without a trace in 198, while Zinaida was unknowingly pregnant with their daughter, Gina. Donovan was kidnapped by slavers who attacked the town in 200. Zinaida lived out her remaining years sickly and depressed until she succumbed to a disease--that she refused medical care for--in the year 217.
Employment
Zinaida helped run her family farm for a few of her younger years until she became a wandering adventurer. She later settled down with Reginald and ran his book shop for twenty years after his disappearance.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
While her drive early on was simply to get the hell out of her old life and make a new one for herself, she later became more family-focused. She always had a dream of visiting The Bahaman Republic but never got the chance.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Zinaida was a crack-shot with a pistol, and she was even the one who taught Reginald how to shoot. She was a talented singer and one hell of a gambler. Her failings laid mostly in the arts. Despite loving books and writing, she was never good at the craft. She also suffered from mild color-blindness, and her visual artistic talent left much to be desired.
Likes & Dislikes
Zinaida was fond of card games, rare meat, and long car rides with her family. She didn't care for the color of her scales and wished they were a color she perceived as light blue (it was actually closer to a mustard yellow for people without color-blindness).
Social
Social Aptitude
Zinaida was generally a sweet and charismatic person. Slow to anger but could quickly become venomous if pushed.
Mannerisms
Despite her upbringing, Zinaida kept a straight-backed, regal demeanor but always kept a warm smile on her face.
Speech
Zinaida spoke with a thick Russian accent. She rarely sounded aggressive but was quite fierce when she did. While she infrequently spoke about her younger life, she was prone to singing to herself in Russian. She even taught Reginald the Russian birthday celebration song. Her singing voice was hauntingly beautiful, and the songs she sang were usually melancholy in tone.
