The younger brother of superspy Alice Grant, Jackson Grant is a World War II vet, Hell’s Kitchen native and seasoned secret agent.
Following the war, Jackson became a spymaster, and in 1961, he and Alice joined the Great Wheel of Zodiac. The original Zodiac was an anti-imperialist group composed of the best spymasters on the planet, who sought to protect the world from dangerous lost technology. During one mission, Jackson imprinted himself on an ancient automaton, inadvertently creating the first Life-Model Decoy (LMD). In service to their own plans, the Grant siblings decided to keep the LMD a secret. Shortly afterward, the Zodiac collapsed, and Jackson went underground, with his LMD taking his place in public.
Unfortunately, Jackson’s LMD was not a perfect copy. The LMD grew to hate the brothers and society at large and sought to destroy both. Using a weapon called the Zodiac Key and backed by a super-villain team modelled after the original Zodiac, the LMD launched several failed campaigns against his sister under the codename Scorpio, before eventually killing himself.
Now believed dead, the actual Jackson remained undercover, eventually taking the place of a high-level Leviathan agent known as Iron Wave. Together, Jackson and Alice orchestrated a war between Leviathan and the secret Soviet spy group known as Tsarina that crippled both organizations.
