Hercules
PERSONAL HISTORY
As the illegitimate son of the Roman god Jupiter and the Theban princess Alcmena, Hercules’ early life was filled with trials and tribulations. Shunned by Jupiter and under constant attack from the thunder god’s wife, Juno, his every day was a fight for survival. However, after Hercules completed twelve legendary labours, Jupiter finally acknowledged his son and inducted the demigod into the Roman pantheon at Mount Olympus.
Having achieved his dreams, Hercules seldom returned to the mortal world—at least, not until the modern era, when the Enchantress brainwashed him into attacking the Marvels. Though Hercules eventually freed himself from her thrall and joined the Marvels in defeating her, Jupiter nonetheless decided to punish his son by temporarily banishing him to Earth.
Eager for new adventures, Hercules took up with the Marvels and became one of the team’s most valued and beloved members. Though Jupiter eventually allowed him access to Olympus Romana again, Hercules returned to the Marvels on and off throughout the subsequent years.
Not long ago, the goddess Nox destroyed Olympus and brought its inhabitants back to life as dark versions of themselves. As one of the only uncorrupted Mythic: Olympian, Hercules joined the Guardians in destroying this evil Olympus. He’s since returned to join the Marvels once again.
