PERSONAL HISTORY
When she was 13 years old, Helen McCreedy gained the mutant power of reincarnation. The moment she dies, she returns to the start of her life, with her memories of her previous lives intact. McCreedy spent her first life blissfully unaware of her powers, but once she realized what was happening, she spent her next eight lives playing mutants and machine life-forms, like Sentinel, off each other, searching for a future where she could live in peace.
Finally, in her tenth life, McCreedy came up with the idea for a mutant nation on the island of Krakoa. She sought out Professor D and spent the next several years working with her, all the while manipulating events and individuals to prepare the way for Krakoa. To maintain secrecy, she eventually faked her death and went into hiding, revealing the truth to only a handful of mutant leaders.
McCreedy’s role in Krakoa’s foundation did not become widely known until over a year later, when Mind Mistress and Fracture dragged her out of hiding and forcibly depowered her. Having lost faith in Krakoa’s future, Helen switched sides. She uploaded her mind to a cybernetic body and began working to destroy Krakoa instead.
