Peregrine "Peri" Klefkey

While she was only with us for a few short years while on sabaatical from her studies at Geidon Priory, she proved industrious, hard-working, and a dutiful student.   Born on the 8th of Stormtide in 6690 CY in the city of Norwech in the western Free Marches, Peri was born in a time of great strife and turmoil in that region, known as The Calamity. Great forces of The Shadow were unleashed upon the Free Marches from the Shattered Throne, and it was a time of fear and unrest. Despite that, Peri was able to grow up in relative safety and comfort, with her family living a mundane life within Norwech. Her parents, Lorna and Cliff Klefkey manage a general good store in Norwech, named Lamplight Goods. Together they raised Peri and her four younger siblings, Piper, Pruitt, Pollard and Penelope. While growing up Peri would help her family run the shop, and they venerated Sidriel, Archangel of Mercy, above all others, and were dutiful adherents to The Light.
  Peri was always interested in knowledge and learning, and her parents would often use any extra money they had to procure her books on the various subjects that piqued her interest. To assist her in her pursuit of knowledge, her parents saved up enough gold to pay for her education at Geidon Priory. Lorna and Cliff knew that education her at the Priory would provide her with a better life than she could possibly have in Norwech, and give her the education she craved. While at the Priory, Peri studied under Jonah Hawk, the Master of that institution. During that time she learned of the glory of our Lady's Light, as well her rites and rituals, as well as the history of the Light on Vendris as well as the arts of healing and other clerical spellcasting.
  There are different paths to serve the Light, and each of those paths require different paths of study. Peri chose to continue her education at Emberfall Academy for two years, where she could study subjects beyond the religious and spiritual. This involved travelling across the Free Marches to the Free City of Emberfall along the western coast of the Inner Sea. This journey was a big undertaking for Peri, who had lived her entire life within Norwech and the surrounding areas, Geidon Priory being just over a days journey beyond it's walls. Peri loved learning however, and Emberfall Academy was considered the most prestigious academic institution within the Free Marches. She made a few friends at Emberfall, like her fellow student Rhys Daltom, and spent many nights studying in the gigantic libraries the school has to offer, or spending time at the plentiful taverns and inns the city has to offer, such as the Bladearm Inn. During her years of study at the Academy Peri became fluent in Eldari, Draconic, the Old Tongue and Dwarfen, in addition to her native Marcher. 
  Unfortunately near the end of her tenure at the Academy Emberfall was attacked by demonic hordes by the designs of Melkor as part of the event known as the Fall of Illidion in late 6713 CY. Huge swaths of the city were destroyed during the attack, and the city was only barely saved by the brave actions of Duke Alexander Blake, Azreal (incognito as Lord Daaru) and the heroes Sir Girard Saint-Yves, Tagrik Hammerfist, Professor Kilroy Thumperdiddle and the gallant sacrifice of Aleister Reye.
  Perri was lucky enough to survive the attack when so many thousands did not, but she was traumatized by the event. Rather than rising as a force of light and strength during the attack, Perri cowered and hid. While she assisted in the aftermath by healing survivors and helping where she could, she didn't have the courage to fight in the streets as events transpired. This left Peri with a lasting fear of combat as time passed. She regretted her inaction during a vital time of need, but has struggled since to overcome her fears. Returning to Geidon Priory shortly thereafter with her studies complete in the winter of 6713 CY, Peri assisted with hard labor, studious tasks and research or healing needs, but continually avoided any possibly dangerous tasks. She also stalled in her path to priesthood, remaining an acolyte committed to the Church of Light, but uncommitted to a specific deity or path. Noticing these shifts in Peri's demeanor and her struggles, Jonah worked with the Vander Mercenary Company to arrange to send Peri on an expedition to the Dragon Coast. Peri set off on this expedition excited at the opportunity to study uncharted lands and study the world, but apprehensive of the challenges this entails. She began her journey leaving Norwech accompanied by the mysterious Tilaxi known as Fiell'dgar, and her bodyguard provided by the Vander Mercenary Company, Edric Fenne.

Organizations

  Church of Light- The Church of the Light is the largest and most powerful religious organization in the Known Realms. Most popular amongst the Elder Races, the church is dedicated to the preservation of the Light's teachings and subservience to the Lady's will. They protect the weak, attend to the poor, and are a beacon of hope in times of darkness. While sometimes this mission can be lost or corrupted within the Church, they still hold great influence over most of Earedar. There are many smaller orders, fraternities and sisterhoods within the Church, the most well-known of those being the Oathsworn.
  Vander Mercenary Company- A mercenary company led by Gaius Flint operating out of Heroes Rest within the Free Marches. Sponsored by the Free City of Emberfall, the Vander Mercenary Company normally operates exclusively within the Marches. Rising to fame with their defeat of the vampire lord Azoz Holaq as well as Xenitoth, the Lord of Madness in 6713 CY, they are now considered the premier mercenary company within the Marches.
