Edric Fenne

Peregrine "Peri" Klefkey

  Edric Fenne was born to a wealthy family within the city of Illidion, owning several pieces of real estate. His father Oswin and mother Amelia managed an estate within the city that included the largest tavern in the town, the Drinking Drake. Edric is proceeded by two older siblings, a brother who will inherit his family's estate, and a sister who married into a wealthy farm owner in the countryside outside of the city walls. With no prospects for inheritance and a habit of recklessness, Edric was shunned within his family as a disappointment, unworthy of the name Fenne. A minor lord within the city, Lord Frederick Alwyn, had a notorious spending problem, and over time had built up a large unsettled bar tab at the Drinking drake. In order to settle he agreed to permanently accept Edric into his personal guard when he reached maturity.
  As a member of Lord Alwyn's guard, Edric honed his skill as a fighter and an archer, continuing to his his position of comfort to play as hard as he worked. Some of the perks of the job included frequent travel to nearby cities in the Free Marches, leaving Edric with a taste for the high life. During the attack now dubbed the Fall of Illidion, as the residents attempted to flee the city, Lord Alwyn ordered his personal guard to load up a cart full of his most valuable possessions before attempting to leave the city. By the time Lord Alwyn's cart escaped town, his personal guard numbered only 18 out of the original 50.
  Merely two days into the journey south along the Black Road, the rest of the guard along with Lord Alwyn was attacked while Edric was out hunting for food. Edric returned to camp to discover that Lord Alwyn was abandoned, robbed and murdered. With no job, no inheritance, no living family and no skills beyond combat and archery, Edric began a long and aimless journey from town to town in search of any work that could be found. After many months of weary travel, Edric was approached by representatives from the Vander Mercenary Company and offered work as part of an expedition to the Dragon Coast beyond the Inner Sea. As part of his contract he would join the company of two other members, a Tilaxi named Fiell'dgar and human priestess named Peregrine Klefkey. Edric was commissioned as the bodyguard for the young priestess for their journey to Heroes Rest.
