The continent of Idaka is not connected to the World Tree like the other four, but it is powered by a vast subterranean mycelium whose sulfurous fumes can be detected almost everywhere on the continent to the west of Elaqitan. It is home to mainly humans, some of whom have ascended to Homo Elaqitanii, elemental humans.
Sulfurous Environment: Many areas are covered in the yellow powder of sulfur, resulting in many desert-like landscapes. The most dangerous area is arguably the Mist Desert. But the fetid swamps and the Goldleaf Forest are also the result of the subterranean giant mycelium. Discover the great human cities or the retreats of the Ifkirit (sulfur spirits) and Rishani (human-scorpion hybrids).
Sulfurous Living: The flora and fauna have adapted to life in the sulfurous atmosphere of the giant underground sulfur mycelium, which has created its own habitat. There are many carnivorous or carrion plants. Larger animals are found primarily in areas less affected by the fungus's fumes, such as the mountains and the south of the continent. Humans, whether magical or not, are the predominant humanoid species. Rishani live primarily in the uninhabited areas.
Sulfurous Society: After some humans ascended to Homo Elaqitanii, normal humans were largely oppressed, which led to unrest and later to the portal chain reaction with the Great Flood and the exodus of humans to the earthly world. Even today, non-magical humans are second-class, held as slaves, and live predominantly in poverty, while the Homo Elaqitanii control all aspects of life.
Sulfurous Element: Read here how humans ascended to Homo Elaqitanii, how they develop their powers, and which spirits and demons roam Idaka because of the underground mycelium.
Sulfurous Organisations: Here you will find references to the League of the Golden Grain, which promoted the rise of Homo Elaqitanii, the countries of the continent, and other important human institutions.
Sulfurous Knowledge: Until the rise of Homo Elaqitanii, Idaka was the most technologically advanced continent. Learn more about the humans' collected knowledge, technological developments, and trade goods here.
