Magic Mushroom Meadows

Mushrooms, and not as mushrooms, are a meadow goblin's greatest joy. We owe our prosperity to them:

"In the heart of our country, where the sunlight spills
There are lush green meadows and splendorous hills
In the dense undergrowth enchanting shroomy caps
Leading to a rich harvest and golden happiness."

First verse of the song "Shroomy Hurley-Burley"

Magic mushrooms are an important export of Brictaelgis and nowhere do they grow better than in the meadows of western Âdocôris.

The Meadows have become an integral part of the lives and many traditions of the Meadow Goblins since their discovery in the 7th millennium before the founding of the Council. These include the naming of the clans, Vîma Lwgox - Shroomy Hurly-Burly, the Adocôrian Mushroom Day and the invention of the Mushroom Harvester.

Ecosystem

The mushroom keepers believe that roots of the Aqi Talúsix - Tree of Elements have spread underground, which has led to the clear development of a magical mycelium. The soils of the mushroom meadows are acidic and enriched with Estrae and Othri. In addition, the weather in this part of the country is significantly wetter and warmer, so the mushrooms thrive in greater numbers. The fruiting bodies of magic mushrooms come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, colors, flavors and, of course, levels of magical or healing potency. Depending on the month, different magic mushrooms grow, meaning that the mushroom harvest occurs almost all year round.

Important mushroom species

by Blue Fairy 74 via Midjourney
There are three different groups of fungi: medicinal & psychedelic, flavor or magic mushrooms

The Honey goldling belongs to the flavor mushrooms. It has a slightly caramel flavor taste and distinguishes about a full day unfolding a thin syrup layer off. The mushroom is popular as an ingredient used for fruit salads.

Grow depending on the month: funnels, tubulars, ascomycetes, sponges, lip tongues, praline funghi

The Morel cap is a edible and medicinal mushroom. The fungus causes nausea and diarrhea administered. But many people use the fungus also as an ingredient for fatty foods eating for prevention. The mushroom can be fresh or can be used dried.

There are mushrooms that grow only one day, only on certain times of day or only grow at night.

The Purple mushroom of lights grows during the last warm autumn nights seeing. The fluorescent mushroom has psychedelic effects and becomes for visions and dream interpretation used. For a better effect the fungus becomes in one alcohol solution inserted.

Other inhabitants of the Mushroom Meadows

A dangerous pest is the common mushroom fly, whose maggots can destroy entire mushroom harvests during the summer months. Magic curly birches grow in the meadows with curly inflorescences that form a symbiosis with the mycelium. Beneath the surface, the mycelium is maintained by emerald ants, which supply the hyphae with estra-rich food from indicator plants such as nettles, dindle or feverfew.

Economic factor

The Grand Duchy of the Mushroom West Meadows has a monopoly on the sale of all products related to magic mushrooms. Dried, pickled and fresh mushrooms, powders, potions and a wide variety of mixtures are sold. In addition, there are of course a variety of books dedicated to breeding and use. The share of Âdocôris's total gross domestic product is around 45%, which is certainly considerable, but also poses enormous risks for the country in the event of crop failures.   Mycotic professions are highly respected among mushroom keepers. In at least every family there is at least one member who is somehow involved in breeding or processing. This is probably where the saying comes from: "Every mushroom knows a guardian." There are mycologists who know everything about mushrooms. Mushroom shamans specialize in the use of mushroom medicine. In addition, there are the fungi engineers who invent all sorts of equipment for growing and using mushrooms.

So many different types of mushrooms!! I love how important they are to the economy.   Down with the mushroom flies!

Thank you - I have the idea for a fungiarium, maybe in another challenge, it was so much fun writing this article - and yes, these flies can be quite annoying.

Time to figure out how to exterminate those flies... Anyway neat article and nice mushrooms!
