Discovery of the Runestones

Although the Holy Order of Druids was helping, it was still a losing battle against the qlippoth. Many lizardfolk had abandoned traditional warfare and opted to instead sneak behind enemy lines and fight there. It was such a party that first found a qlippoth runestone.   It was a small piece of obsidian, located near one of their portals. Although it took some time they eventually smashed it and closed the portal it was found near, taking a qlippoth lord with it.

The portal near the runestone was a small, almost inactive one. Perhaps this was the reason they were able to get close and pick up the runestone. By itself, it did not seem like much. A small piece of obsidian with several runes carved on it. It was the priest they had with them who was able to feel the magic coming from the stone and insisted on bringing it along. When they realised the runestone was the reason for the new corruption of the swamp. however, they quickly destroyed it. To their surprise, this also closed the portal, which took a qlippoth lord with it, as it closed.
