As the focus on getting to the source of the light deep underground slowly faded away, it got replaced by a focus on strengthening the position of the Crystalguts. This took the form of placing ever stricter checks and reportings of everything that happened in the border. This however lasted only a few decades before it began to spill over the borders.

Although it has often been dubbed "The Subjugation Wars" it was in fact more akin to a slow and methodical subjugation of the clans that had settled in the crystal mountains during The Exile March. While most clans initially declined many where quickly convinced through war or intimidation. Yet others through smart political decisions which effectively absorped many other clans. Many of the clans that did not want to be subjugate but did not have an army fled the crystal mountains all together. Like this they joined up with other large dwarven settlements or found mountains to settle in all across E'ath.   In the end all of the Crystal Mountains was under the rule of the Crystalguts and has been kept as such ever since. Although some dissenting groups still exist in the kingdom, they are rarely taken serious anymore as most of the subjugated clans have now been completely absorbed into Du'gar.
