The Savage Isles Become Overpopulated

Plague / Epidemic

2481AoC

As the people of the Savage Isles flourished, the population rose and attracted people from all over E'ath. With the increase in population a plague, however, also followed.

The plague initially started in the northern parts of the Savage Isles. From there it slowly spread across the rest of the Isles by way of merchants and travellers.   Although some have since argued the plague was a punishment from their gods to stop them from warring, current scholars find this hard to believe as the gods would have wanted as many followers as possible. Scholars today are instead divided and unsure exactly what caused it, but when it first appeared the ratfolk, whose territory it originated from, were quickly blamed as they had a natural resistance against such afflictions.
