War of Kunar Island

Although his father and his father before him had failed to expand the kingdom of Du'gar, Tharnred Crystalgut II had greater ambition. He had inherited a kingdom that was far more stable and rich than most other countries in E'ath and he intended to further the country's glory by conquering Kunar Island, a task in which he would ultimately fail and smash the kingdom against.

Soon after ascending the throne Tharnred Crystalgut II ramped up the production of weapons in an attempt to conquer Kunar Island. At his time this Island was already settled by halflings who had mostly kept to themselves and traded with whomever wanted their produce.   When the invasion began they asked for help from their trading partners, but no one wanted to go to war with the kingdom of Du'gar, so no one came to their aid. Realizing their isolation they instead opted to give ground but burn the earth along with any food and supplies as the enemy advanced. The dwarves who did not have enough ships to supply their army slowly ground to a halt as they had not been used to farming anything outside their mountains.   In the end, they had to take a biter retreat back to Sin Ar Isles and Tharnred Crystalgut II spent the rest of his reign repairing the damage the lost invasion had caused.
