The Great War for Survival

Due to the remoteness of Du'merh the great war took more than 70 years to finally reach this kingdom. Up until this point they had mainly turned away refugees at their gates and stored up supplies for if the war should ever come to them. As the great evil approached and forced them out of their mines all this preparation where quickly proven for naught.

As the great evil approached the entrances of the southern mines the mountains seemed to shake and deep below the earth began to melt. Much of Du'merh's food and stock for emergencies were put here and as it vanished below the earth many fled out of the mines in fear of becoming the next thing that got pulled beneath the earth. Here their only fate was to get eaten or killed by horde of creatures that the great evil had brought along.   Those that stood their ground without fleeing deeper down where ironically the only ones that survived the years it took for the great evil to also pass these lands. Although the destruction would last long and there were much work to do in cleansing the corruption left behind in the end this region too, would not completely perish under the gaze of the great evil.
