Tehanti Future Coup

The Tehanti Future Coup was an attempted echelarist coup in the Republic of Tehant in 1306 CE. High-ranking members of the Tehanti military, aligned with the Tehanti Future Party, detained the prime minister and much of parliament. Across the country, they seized infrastructure and declared martial law.   They may have succeeded, if it weren't for the mobilization of a federation of Tehanti labor unions, who armed themselves and took to the streets. Union militias skirmished with army units loyal to the Future Party across the country, giving the rest of the army time to regroup and take action. The Republic of Tehant emerged victorious, and the Future Party was dissolved. The victory invigorated the Tehanti socialist movement, eventually leading to the Second Tehanti Revolution.
