Black Years
The Black Years was a period of time, between 549 and 552 CE, marked by extreme weather phenomena and changes in climates across Duurn. In 549 and 550, many regions experienced increases in temperature and remarkably high levels of rainfall, while the following two years continued to grow warmer but brought drought-like conditions across the world.
The Black Years ushered in mass death and instability across Duurn. The ripple effects in the following decades contributed to the collapse of the Jiderani Empire.
