Battle of Lärsmyt

The Battle of Lärsmyt was the first battle in Hellissandur during the Last War. It marked the beginning of the Halaran invasion of the Iron Lands, following the Hellissandric embargo of Halar vessels.   The batle began when Halaran aerostats blockaded the eastern Hellissandric town of Lärsmyt and established a beachhead for their invasion. While Hellissandur had been prepared to defend, they were overwhelmed by the Halaran forces. Halar began pressing west with an advance force, leaving behind troops to create entrenchments and infrastructure to maintain an invasion.   In this battle and the skirmishes that follow their retreat, the Hellissandric military finds that conventional military tactics fall flat against the Halaran force, which is significantly larger and better-equipped.
