Asunni Kaqitagla

Asunni Kaqitagla was a Sutgaa anticolonial revolutionary and political philosopher, considered to be one of the foundational thinkers of libertarianism.

Biography

She was born in Nivlathi and was closely engaged with the anticolonial struggle there for most of her young adult life. By the time she was in her 30s, she was widely considered to be a leader in the movement. In 1222, after a series of small uprisings against Khahlanong in Nivlathi, she was arrested by the Khahlanong army and sentenced to execution.   Escaping from jail with the help of Sutgaa freedom fighters, she continued to fight. Eventually though, after several assassination attempts on her and her family, she fled Nivlathi for the Qimuunas Mountains. While there, she connected with the Muungaqan resistance, fighting against incursions from Kaisan Eaorma and Lawuusmut. She became a major figure in the organization of the Qimuunas Confederation.

Influence

Later in life, she wrote reflected extensively on the anticolonial struggle and visions of the political future of the Sutgaa and Muungaqan. The ideas and critiques of nationalist elements in the anticolonial struggle that she espoused became fundamental to the growing libertarian movement across Duurn.
