Özek Becöşirtü 1269

The Özek Becöşirtü 1269 is a single-shot, bolt-action rifle that features a transition technology between muzzleloaders and metallic cartridge breechloaders. All bolt-action rifles can be traced back to this design. It was the first of the so-called "needle guns," which have long, needle-like firing pins to penetrate the combustible paper case and strike the percussion cap at the base of the bullet.   The renowned gunwright Bilge Özek designed the Becöşirtü 1269 on commission for the İşcan family. Used as the service rifle in Ras Tamura and other south Teshoyan states in the late 1200s, similar models were created all across Duurn. Derivatives of this weapon are still in use in areas where firearms technology has lagged behind the modern standard.   Its low Malf. is due mainly to the needle pin it uses being prone to breakage. A malfunction most often indicates a mechanical problem.   Most models of this rifle take a 0.7-lb. socket bayonet (Reach 1, 2*).
