Deities began to impinge upon one-another's creations. Discord festered, until the first blow was struck.

First War was a calamitous battle between the deities, which lasted for millennia and forged much of the world as it now exists. New creatures were created, borne of an escalating need for supremacy. Artefacts, made by divine hands, were used on all sides. Many were lost in battle - and scattered across the realm.   Eventually, after much hardship and destruction, some deities began to set aside their differences. Nyva and Udur worked together to bring an end to the conflict, which in their view required the Hiqra to be stopped. They created The Shadowcage, captured Hiqra, and forced her to negotiate a fragilepeace. To prevent such a war from ever occurring again, the eight major deities came together and created a golem, which together they granted power beyond their own, and entrusted with powers of arbitration. The clay that makes its body was made by a coming together of Tedna and Cydenti. The collaboration between two diametrically opposed gods encouraged others to find peace.   Hiqra had other plans. She attempted to sabotage the golem in the moment of its creation, hoping to create a supreme ally. Her treachery was stopped short of full realisation. As she fled into darkness, the golem awoke, but Hiqra's treachery had left it blind.
