Merian Aristocrat
Among the many jobs and positions a person of the Kingdom of Meria can take, one stands out as the most sought-after 'job' a merfolk can have. That of becoming part of the Merian Aristocracy. Although it is usually a job one is born into, there have been a select few cases when a member of the common classes has been raised out of the dirt and mirth of a commoner's life and elevated to become a higher-being entirely. The people of the Kingdom of Meria consider this a whole Job due to it's reverence as being a final-state of being, that one who is an Aristocrat need not work another job or even fiddle with the folly of the common folk, but instead may dine on silver and gold and live frictionless and fruitfully above society.

Qualifications
Although it is said that a strong spirit and good will towards the people of Meria is all that one may need to become a true Merian Aristocrat, lower classes can attest that it almost always a career one is born into and never one given to those working day and night to keep the settlements of Meria running. In disgust, they may say that to be a Merian aristocrat one must be born with a silver spoon in their mouth, and a hoity-toity attitude that elevates them above the common folk. For a person of the common folk to achieve Aristocracy it is said that it is near, if not nigh impossible, but if achieved it is usually for acts of pure and unfiltered raw power or selflessness and recognition that would cause the royalty and existing aristocracy to be unable to ignore them.
