Magic-Driven Cart
A prototype vehicle class, magic-driven carts (typically shortened to madri carts or simply madri(s)) are an in-progress invention by MASK. Though only a few prototypes exist, and in dubious condition, MASK presents them as the future of transporation, and more and more people are caught in the undertow of potential.
Madris require no animals to pull them, but are propelled by magic supplied via magic draining. Since they're not reliant on animals, they're not at risk of working animals getting injured or sick, and don't require trained animals. All one needs is magic, and they don't even need to supply it themselves: they can just buy pre-charged batteries. Well, in the future, when these things are brought out of the prototype stage and into the real world.
Relying on magic over animals has other benefits, at least according to MASK. They suggest that future models can be improved to surpass the abilities of animals, letting madri carts move faster than any animal-pulled cart, or to let them carry greater weights without (noticeably) impacting movement speed.
Power Generation
Madris function entirely on magic drained from dragons. It can't generate its own power, but takes it from whatever form the stored magic takes--something which is still up in the air as this 'battery' technology is also still in development. One prototype doesn't use batteries at all, but is built with magic draining integrated in it, requiring a dragon to act as a living battery, supplying power directly to the cart.
Propulsion
Current madri prototypes all hold closely to the concept of a cart, simply without animals pulling them. Instead, some kind of magic-driven engine makes the wheels roll, propelling the cart.
