Kaikon's Call
One of several groups working under the Sect of the Serpent, Kaikon's Call is rare among them for not being a hidden group ruled by a secret leader, but by functioning out in the open, with the leader visibly taking charge.
Named after the kaikon, despite being active on an entirely different continent, they model themselves after the characteristic howl of the kaikon, which is said to forespell death. The members of Kaikon's Call are trackers and (bounty) hunters, and are said to be capable of finding anyone and anything.
A guild of trackers and bounty hunters is, by itself, not a questionable thing. What is questionable is that they regularly seem to work jobs from an unknown employer, whose principles seem... more questionable. Not to mention its membership. Where do all these people come from? And why are they so... attached... to their guild? They seem so secluded, so withdrawn from regular society, almost as if they were being kept away intentionally. Their leader, too, seems unusually powerful among them, almost in a religious manner. Almost... cult-like.
Kaikon's Call is certainly a controversional organization, but when one is desperate, only the best will do. And even if all stopped paying for their services... It seems unlikely that the Call would be silenced so easily.
Culture
Like all of the Sect's subgroups, Kaikon's Call is a religious cult. Unlike most of those subgroups, the Call isn't secreted away somewhere, but active in the world. Most of its members have little to no interaction with the public, spending most of their time in camps in the wilderness even when not actively at work, with only the highest ranking (and best indoctrinated) members interacting with regular society. They are religious followers of Auhir, or at least, of Auhir as the Sect believes they exist. A deity of life, the Call mostly thanks Auhir for providing them food to continue their hunt, and most of their rituals to honor Auhir involve the hunt, be it of food or bounties.
