Hearthhome

The main headquarters of Dove's HearthHearthhome is, well, home to the Hearth. A grand and beautiful church, Hearthhome stands out from its moderate surroundings. What was once a modest church more focused on function than appearance, is now often praised as one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, a true collaborative masterpiece.

Purpose / Function

Hearthhome is first and foremost, a church for Dove's followers, specifically those of the Hearth. To follow their religious doctrine (to help any who need it), the church was built to work as a charity. Its large size offers housing to those who struggle, its kitchens allow members to cook for the hungry, and its massive halls let them organize food drives or soup kitchens without forcing people to wait (or work) outside during poor weather.

Alterations

Although Hearthhome started out as a modest building, prioritizing function over appearance, it has over time grown into something else. While its members have focused efforts onto expansion, making it better suited to their work--for example, by adding more rooms or expanding the kitchens--they are not the only ones to work on the church. Many who are helped by the Hearth repay their efforts with labor. And while plenty of them work in the kitchens, helping others as they were once helped themselves, some skilled with physical labor instead help with the church's upkeep. And some with artistic inclinations instead beautify the church, adding decorations and embellishments, crafting statues or stained glass panels or grand paintings.   The beauty of Hearthhome is symbolic of its functioning. Without those helped by the church and its members, the building itself never would have achieved its modern-day beauty. Some, however, overlook this, intentionally or otherwise. They call Hearthhome's beauty a blight, a sign that the Hearth spends its money on themselves rather than charity. After all, who would create such artwork without being paid for it?
