Arpiolorg
Located in the country Publicolas, Arpiolorg (/arˈpiolorg/) is a massive, uninhabited wasteland. Little is known about the lands themselves, as any who enter it seem to disappear, leaving no trace of their existence... as if they were ghosts, vanishing from the planet. Some say the lands are cursed, or haunted, or any matter of awful things are wrong with it. Some, however, claim they are instead blessed, that those who disappear didn't get hurt but were accepted into holy lands, like their equivalent of Heaven.
The truth, like many things on Drakunne, ties back to the gods themselves. Rather than directly cursing (or blessing) the lands, Arpiolorg was the site of one of their many conflicts. And while the spilling of divine blood in the Wastes of Oaths led to the formation of dragonkind, things are not always so positive. In the case of Arpiolorg, which saw a conflict between a much smaller number of deities in a much more vicious light, the lingering magic takes on a much more sinister form.
Arpiolorg is an illusory land, which appears as a vast plain of wasteland. Even when crossing its borders, afflicted dragons continue to see the land stretch on before them, encouraging them to keep moving. Underneath this illusion, however, the land bears physical scars from the conflict, deep gouges torn through the soil. Enormous cavernous canyons cross through the lands, which no dragon entering the land can see. Even as they step through the ground, falling into the depths, they never see the danger they're in, happily leading the rest of their group along with them.
Fauna & Flora
Although dragons are effected by the illusory magic cast over Arpiolorg, they are the only ones. The magic binds to their own native magical ability, which most other Drakuni life misses. In fact, the unnatural canyons and depths found here has spurred inhabitant life into unique forms, which can make the most of this one-of-a-kind environment. Endemic life here would be fascinating to study... if anyone could enter the lands to witness it.
