Aether Storm

When Aethegen collects in a high enough concentration it will form into an Aether Storm. These Storms will move about on their own and discharge their energy until the concentration is low enough for the Aethegen to once again be inert. An Aether Storm looks like a glowing cloud of fog or mist. The color of its glow depends on its Alignment. The presence of an Aether Storm can effect spells up to 1 mile away from the edge of the visible cloud, but all other effects of the Storm are usually limited to within the cloud. The speed at which the storm moves fluctuates wildly. It is not unheard of for a Storm to move so fast that the people who found themselves inside of it had no chance of seeing or reacting to it before it was too late.

White Storms: These have no particular Alignment and are considered to be the least dangerous ones overall. Spells cast are more likely to go awry and Drakokrystals within the cloud can potentially shatter from being overloaded with Energy. Occasionally, Monsters will slip into reality from within the cloud.

Yellow Storms: These are Aligned to Alteration magic and inanimate objects within the cloud can at random be altered by its magic. Examples of these alteration include: turning a asphalt road into mud, a soft bed becoming solid concrete, and a wooden floor becoming an array of sharp steel spikes.

Teal Storms: These are of the Illusion Alignment and the cloud can cause those within it to experience vivid illusions that are often impossible to distinguish from reality. This can and has lead to many accidental deaths.

Blue Storms: Charged with Kinetic magic, objects and people can get violently thrown out of, or pulled into, the cloud.

Green Storms: Life Manipulation magic is infused into this storm. This can cause the dead to rise spontaneously or can heal the injuries of the living as it passes by.

Red Storms: Temperatures fluctuate wildly under the effects of this storm's Thermic magic. Objects and people might either spontaneously combust or freeze solid. Sometimes both at once!

Purple Storms: The Witchcraft alignment allows this storm to impart or remove illnesses or curses on those that find themselves inside of it.
