Kobolds - Fodder and feed
"Nothing better than a brace of Kobolds, marinated, stewed and then flash grilled for that final smokey touch - now I'm hungry!" - Distel - the gourmet
Kobolds - Draconic fodder, feed and fateous
Kobolds are a subservient race, enslaved by their draconic overlords to serve as laborers, minions, and cannon fodder in their quest for dominance. Kobolds, once a proud and resourceful species, have been reduced to a state of subjugation and servitude, forced to toil under the watchful eyes of their draconic masters or face harsh punishment and retribution.
Enslaved Labor:
Kobolds are primarily used by dragons as a cheap and expendable labor force, tasked with performing menial and backbreaking tasks such as mining, construction, and agriculture. They work tirelessly under the whip of dragonborn overseers, extracting resources and building infrastructure to further the dragons' agendas.
Kobolds are also employed in the production of weapons, armor, and other goods for their draconic masters, using their innate craftsmanship and ingenuity to manufacture items of value for the dragon's hoards.
Minions and Foot Soldiers:
In addition to their role as laborers, Kobolds are often conscripted into the draconic forces as foot soldiers and cannon fodder. They are sent into battle by their masters to serve as frontline troops, distractions, or expendable pawns in the dragons' conflicts with rival factions or threats to their dominion. The treasurers make use of Kobold foot soldiers to enforce taxation commonly as well.
Despite their diminutive size and limited combat prowess, Kobolds are fiercely loyal to their draconic overlords and will fight to the death in service to their masters, driven by a combination of fear, indoctrination, and the promise of rewards or privileges. They are not to be underestimated either as they prefer to attack in groups and can create painful and ingenious traps.
Harsh Treatment and Punishment:
Kobolds who fail to meet the expectations of their draconic masters or show signs of disobedience are subjected to harsh treatment and punishment. They may be subjected to physical abuse, torture, or even execution as a deterrent to others who would defy draconic authority. A common method of execution is being eaten by one of the dragonlords.
Draconic overlords enforce strict rules and regulations to keep their Kobold slaves in line, using fear, intimidation, and coercion to maintain control over their subordinate race. Rebellion or dissent among the Kobolds is swiftly quashed, ensuring that they remain submissive and obedient to their draconic masters.
Subjugation and Indoctrination:
Kobolds have been indoctrinated from a young age and even from the egg to view dragons as their rightful rulers and benefactors, instilling in them a sense of reverence and loyalty towards their draconic overlords. They are taught that serving the dragons is their divine purpose and that obedience is the key to survival and prosperity.
Despite their subjugation, some Kobolds harbor secret desires for freedom and liberation from draconic oppression. These individuals may seek to undermine their masters' authority through acts of sabotage, espionage, or rebellion, risking everything in pursuit of a better life beyond the yoke of draconic slavery.
