Speaker of the House
The highest ranking official in the House of the Common People, the Speaker presides over all sessions of the Lower Chamber and occupies the third spot in the line of succession.
Appointment
Elected at the beginning of the new Congress by a majority of the representatives-elect, and upon a vacancy during a Congress. While it is potentially constitutional to elect a non-member of the House to the Speakership, this has never been done and scholars are divided as to whether it would actually be constitutional.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Upon a Motion to Vacate, the House of the Common People can vote to immediately remove the Speaker, at which point they would elect a new Speaker.
