Tenets of Faith
Ra is the God of Order. He is the ultimate symbol of order, having risen from the Sea of Chaos. His followers are dedicated to the study of the order of the universe. In this respect, they follow much of the same tenets as do the followers of Thoth, who is also a son of order. Followers of Ra typically spend their time in deep meditation and study, especially about the divine arts. Clerics of Ra

Personal history
Ra was the King of the gods for centuries of Draconian time. His reign was undisputed amongst the gods. Apothis, who was never actually called a god, hated Ra because the two of them stood for two diametrically opposed concepts: Order and Chaos. Ra is the god of Order and wants the world to remain ordered. Apothis is a being of pure Chaos and wants to see the entire world fall back into the Sea of Chaos, the gods right alongside it. At one point, Ra and Apothis got into a huge duel. It was a magical battle of epic proportions. It was magic so powerful, its effects could probably be felt across the Astral Plane to other realms of existence. In the course of this battle, Apothis--as a great serpent--bit Ra. Ra managed to fend off Apothis and drive him away, but the damage had been done. Over the next while, Ra began to age as his life force was being drained. There is no antidote to Apothis's venom. He knew that the only place he could go to remain alive was the far reaches of the Astral Plane, far outside of Draconian Reality. He ascended to the Astral Plane, leaving the throne of the gods to Osiris and his dominion over the Sun to his high priest, Khepri, who assumed part of Ra's divinity.
