Gyles Anhill

Sir Gyles Anhill, Junior (a.k.a. The Bard)

Gyles Anhill is the founder and leader of the Midsummer Players, a distinguished performance group in Draconia. They are renowned worldwide for their abilities in theater and music. Gyles is a bard, though he chose not to follow the draconic path of a bard. The members of his troupe are known as minstrels, which is similar to a bard though not as prestigious.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Gyles lost his parents at a young age and spent most of his childhood traveling with a group of minstrels. At 18, he gained a scholarship to the University of Thoth for music and left the troupe to study music. He gained advanced degrees in both music and theater and formed a troupe of his own. As a playwright, his plays are known for their entertaining qualities while still presenting a lesson to learn from watching. As a composer, his oratorios are world-famous. His troupe plays the leading roles in his oratorios when they are performed and he often travels with a recruited choir and orchestra, though these players are contracted only for one tour. Sometimes, when a king or other leader will ask for a special performance, a local choir and orchestra will be formed by the leader and the Players will simply fill in the leads. Gyles always conducts his works.

Education

Gyles received practical education from his mentor in the troupe he traveled with as a child. He went on to received formal education in theater and music at the University of Thoth, Grand Temple Campus.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Gyles is responsible for chronicling the history of Riffin Wayfalls in Shaping a Republic, which he wrote in both play and novel form.   He also chronicled the War of the Dragons in a book about Laucian Xiloscient. The book has since been turned into an oratorio.
