Black Hat, aka Alex, just Alex, is a NuType with the strange ability to understand electronic signals. Turning a Gifted computer programmer into a godly computer specialist.
Black Hat began their career working for anyone willing to pay for their programming and firewall breach abilities, starting fairly legitimately before the lure of money led them to use their talents for criminal enterprises.
Alex quickly adopted the alias Black Hat as a way of not only showcasing their skills but also making a statement. Alex wasn’t simply a black-hat running around on the net; they were THE Black Hat, by which all other black-hat hackers wish they could be. Black Hat has augmented themself with many neural links and computer brain pals to enhance its gifts.
Black Hat took the hacking job for attacking The Floating Camelot and its Frame security in return for 20% of the take; the 4 liters of NHT could be useful for a practical value, but its street value alone would make any job worth it.
Unfortunately, Black Hat would run into Calvin Crockett-Nagai of The Interdictors. Who promptly prevented the mostly human NuType from escaping, leading to their capture. Alex, however, did not end up in Police Custody like many members of the Red Bandit gang.
