Shelton

For generations, the presence of the Elven monarchy has retreated like the undertow, and life has been plentiful and steady for a hand of generations —farms hum with labor and livestock, logging camps echo with the sound of axes, and halfling manned fishing boats supply the bustling markets. Even the marauding raids of The #Driftborne ships have become a ceremonial exchange of resources. Seasons bring festivals to all of the half-dozen independent villages of the eastern wilds. The ceremonies adorned with athletic competition and the courtship of youth bring tradition and stability to the land. That calm is about to break.

  Columella

The heart of Shelton, Columella hosts meetings of the Shelton council as well as religious and guild business. It includes the town square, the town Chambers of Erathis, The Hammered Chalice tea house, Blue Talkin's Tavern, The Thankful Church of Salat, Trawdrum's Gallows and guard house, The Respite Theater, A Temple of Bahamat, The Witch-Doctor, The Gilded Quill, and Geni's Parlor.

The families of Columella are those most socially invested in the growth of the sprawling settlement, and those that provide the commercial services found there.

  Miller's Market

On the northern side of Columella are the commercial markets. Craftsmen, fishmongers, entertainers and others looking to sell their wares gather every morning. It includes The Ringing Hammer, The Dirty Man bathhouse, Old Sew and Sew, Hook and Eat, Darin's assembly services, Staff and Barrel, and if you know a guy, a pawn broker.

Most of the people of Miller's Market are intensely invested in their family businesses. Master and apprentice relationships are common, with the preference of family. Less common than it used to be is the tradition of Cracyne - the act of allowing a skilled artisan to partially adopt your child as an indentured servant.

  Barreltown

The farthest north, on the shore of the Whitecrest Sea is Barreltown, home to sailors, traders, wanderers, and halfmen. It is split into two areas by . On the western side are the Barreltown Docks and past that the Paese'dei'balocchi. On the eastern side is a long beach front known as Pepperhaven.

The Barreltown docks are all business, legal or not. It is a busy port for the out-lands. 60% of the business that takes place here never leaves Barreltown. It is a convenient stop between the Elven coast and Eastpoint, and crews stop for a night of rest and to refill supplies. The fishermen of Barreltown are treated with respect and foreigners that take advantage of them learn their lesson quickly. It includes the Dockmaster's Office, Tsunami Tavern, the Temple of Siiphosus, Landlegs general store, and if you know a guy, a loan shark.

There are two kinds of people in Barreltown, natives and transients. Almost a third of those in Barreltown at any given time are non-human, mostly halfmen.

Paese'dei'balocchi, or as the humans call it The Pass, is where the sailors, fishermen, traders and mercenaries go to live and play. It includes Anwill's Casino, The Found Crew cafe, The Seaman Inn, Driftwyld Tavern, The Stoop Club, The Pit, and the First Star Motel.

There is an ever present criminal element in the Pass, and visitors know to watch their back. Interpersonal incidents usually settled 'privately' without intervention from Shelton leadership. What happens in the Pass stays in the Pass.

Pepperhaven is a long stretch of beach over 2 miles long that has been mostly unmolested by the continuing expanse of Shelton. This is partially because Elmon'Alok'Wrannerios'Liaxidor, an Elven Druid who lives in the Iridesent caves, is territorial and considered a little senile. It includes the beach itself, many tortoise dens, the Flute Geysers, the tide-pools, a Ranagrove, dozens of caves of various sizes, and at the end of it's many miles is the Obsidian Cliffs which lead to the Moonstone diver's lagoon for those brave enough to try to go there.
