Spooktober 2025: Grief
Everyone experiences grief in their own way. Every civilization has its traditions around grieving the dead, its myths, songs and customs, which add up to one of the columns that hold them upright, as I recently commented on Imagica's Night of Souls
Grief can also knock on the door of the cheated lover, the bankrupt craftsperson, the disillusioned subject of a king.
But words can also evolve, gaining different meanings. That's what makes languages beautiful: their use does not blunt them, the way a blade or a chisel grows dull. Instead, they adapt, mutate, take on new shapes to serve their purpose in different times and places.
With that in mind, let's explore the practice of osur in Doriande, while also introducing two characters I have been developing for some time now, through their indirect debate on the subject.
