Tan Laroholg

Her last name meant grassfoot, a regular name for those that did not travel between cities but wondered in the wildiness when freed from the god's hold.   She, like those of her name Laroholg, were not expected or wanted to integrate into society, and was not given a title or place in society.   She wasn't an Ardusan beauty, too short in stature, mouth too small and soft, brown hair too dark and tangled into unkempt locs. She had small, squinty bulgy eyes and high cheekbones. A slim and long face, with a pointed chin. Pale skin that often blushed blue in the cold Sing Galtz winters, though she never shivered. She had two prominent scars, one on the left side of her face, thin and frmo jaw to cheek, the other a light scratch on the right side of her nose. She claimed to have gotten them before she was free in the mountains. She often adorned her hair with the various flowers and plants around, and tied leaves into her old piercing.   She lived a peaceful life alone in the unclaimed known now as the Klodargo Mountains. She talked to travelers. She helped when she could, send them on their way safetly back on the path. Tan never accepted payments other than the occiasonal company, and even then she didn't always accept.   You can explore with Tan in the start of the Humaneborn HB era, here in her visual novel / interactive fiction Laroholg
"I was never a great writer, didn't care for it too much." "That time though, I needed to record my life, right here in this very logbook." "But I once read my entries to two friends of mine when we were all young."   "One said I really painted a picture of the land and what we were like back then." "The other said there was much I never said to them, that I needed to speak more often."   "It feels... strange, to see how we were all back then. So young, so new to unknown."   "Occasionally, I reread ithe passages smudged on the page..."

She gets particularly close to two travelers, brothers, who learn from her, and eventually spread news of the riches in her land. Accidental or not, people come visit Tan, with intentions to settle there. As the mountains are rued off as dangerous, it's a wonder how Tan has survived for so long by herself, so much so that rumors of her approval is neccasary to live there. Riches and treasure are offered for her favor, but she denies them all.
She was said to wear a drab dress, once white wool with delicate stitching, wearing thick undergarments that kept her warm. These are notes of her earliest appearance. Once more travelers and merchants walk the path, she is seen in thick wool pants, a tattered shirt, and thick, patched over coat of different fabrics and patterns. She always seemed to be barefoot, only in the thickest snow was she seen wearing minimal foot protection.

"She was so odd. She met us, not hostile but not saying much. Seemed more interested in the plants we had stored in the wagon. Pretty sure she was talking to it. Is this what the Godsears mean when they say Laroholgs are feral? Its... it's not what I expected."
