Because of his name and short stature, Gingerbread Smith are often bullied and singled out during most of his young adult life. This lead him to put more focus on the art that he loves, smiting. His family came from a long line of smithies and metal workers, and so it is unsurprising that he inherit the interest to such art, albeit less so on swords, daggers and other pointed sticks and more on anything that can propel a small chunk of metal to a speed faster than sound; a.k.a. guns. However, all of the guns, bullets and to an extent, violence, in the world cannot sate something Gingerbread is missing: love and affection.
